middle school daliy practice

I just remembered this thing I used to do in middle school, right when I got home. I would sit down alone at the kitchen table and pour myself a bowl of cereal. Then, as I ate, one spoonful at a time, I would try to focus on every single individual piece of cereal in my mouth, one at a time, every flake, every puff, every last mini-wheat, as long as I felt each one individually before I swallowed. I would do this for the entire bowl of cereal. I wouldn't count them. There didn't seem to be a point. I just wanted to make sure I was aware of each one. I might say for example that right now I have 7 flakes in my mouth, but I would never add them all up in the end. I found it really helped to calm me down. I recommend trying it if anyone has the time. Frosted Mini Wheats and Kixx work the best.
